Radioband Privacy Policy

What stays on your device

Radioband stores your listening history, transcripts, translations, summaries, notes, preferences, saved dials, and saved-song identifiers on your device. Radioband has no account system, advertising, or analytics service. Your location is used only to center and sort receivers and is not sent by Radioband.

Receiver connections

When you choose a public receiver, Radioband connects directly to that receiver and sends tuning and control commands. The receiver operator can see your IP address, connection time, tuned frequency, and the Radioband client identifier. Many public receivers use unencrypted HTTP or WebSocket connections. Other people on the network path may be able to observe or alter that traffic.

Other network services

Radioband downloads receiver and broadcast reference data from radioband.weirdvibes.net and may download a language-identification model from Hugging Face. Apple may download on-device speech and translation language assets. Song identification sends a short audio fingerprint to Apple Shazam. Song links and saves may contact Apple Music, Apple's iTunes Search service, or Spotify. Those services receive normal network information, such as your IP address, and handle it under their own policies.

Retention and deletion

Journal data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. You can delete individual catches, clear older automatic history, or delete the entire journal in Settings. Removing the app deletes its local data. Third-party services and receiver operators control their own logs and retention.

Your choices

Listening does not require location, speech recognition, translation, Apple Music, Spotify, or automatic recognition. You can deny those permissions, turn recognition off, and withdraw access in iOS Settings. Some optional features will then be unavailable.
